We built this for the mornings that don't negotiate. Max Caf Blend is our highest-caffeine coffee — built on specialty-grade Robusta from Tanzania and India, blended with quality Arabica, and roasted medium-dark to develop the bold, dark chocolate depth that makes it as satisfying as it is powerful. Roasted fresh in Temecula, California — in most cases the same day it ships. More caffeine. Zero compromise on flavor.
Why We Made This
Most high-caffeine coffees are a trade-off. More lift, worse cup. Harsh, bitter, flat — the kind of coffee you choke down because you need it, not because you want it. We refused that deal. The Max Caf Blend is built on specialty-grade Robusta — not commodity Robusta, which deserves its bad reputation, but high-altitude, carefully sourced beans from Tanzania and India that deliver roughly twice the caffeine of Arabica without the harshness. A quality Arabica base ties it together, rounds the edges, and keeps the cup drinkable. The result is the hardest-hitting coffee in our lineup — and one of the most intentional.
Flavor Profile
- Dark Chocolate — bold, prominent, and deeply satisfying
- Earthy Depth — grounded character from the Indian Robusta component
- Full Body — substantial from first sip to last
- Low Bitterness — specialty-grade sourcing eliminates the harshness of lesser high-caffeine blends
- Clean Finish — no harsh aftertaste, no crash
The Beans Behind the Blend
- Tanzanian Robusta — grown in the East African highlands, delivers bold intensity and serious caffeine lift
- Indian Robusta — shade-grown in the Western Ghats, adds earthy depth and a smooth, grounding finish
- Arabica Base — specialty-grade, keeps the cup balanced and prevents the bitterness that defines commodity high-caffeine blends
- Roast Level: Medium-Dark — developed to pull out dark chocolate and earthy notes without losing origin character
How to Brew
Drip (Recommended) — Consistent and bold. 1:15 ratio, medium grind. The dark chocolate and earthy character come through clean and strong.
Yield: ~17–24 cups per 12oz bag. Larger sizes scale proportionally.
French Press — Full body shines here. Coarse grind, 1:15 ratio, steep 4 minutes. Rich, immersive, and powerful.
Espresso — Bold and intense. Works straight or as the base for milk drinks that need a real caffeine foundation.
Cold Brew — Low bitterness and full body make this exceptional cold-brewed. 1:8 ratio, steep 18–24 hours. Dark, smooth, and hits hard over ice.
Best For
- Early, demanding mornings — when you need your coffee to actually work
- High-output days — sustained lift without the jitter or crash of cheap high-caffeine blends
- Bold coffee drinkers — who want maximum intensity without sacrificing flavor
- Espresso and cold brew — full body and low bitterness make it exceptional in both
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it taste harsh or bitter?
No. Specialty-grade Robusta sourced at altitude is a completely different product from commodity Robusta. The Arabica base and careful roasting eliminate the harshness that defines lesser high-caffeine blends.
How much more caffeine does it have?
Robusta contains roughly twice the caffeine of Arabica by weight. The exact amount per cup depends on your brew ratio, but this is meaningfully stronger than any standard Arabica coffee in our lineup.
How does this compare to your other bold coffees?
The Max Caf Blend is the highest-caffeine option we carry. For bold flavor without the extra caffeine, explore our African Espresso or Cowboy Blend — two other heavy hitters built for people who don't do subtle.
Is this a good daily driver?
Yes — it's built for it. Specialty-grade sourcing and careful roasting make it a cup you'll actually want every morning, not just one you endure.
