About this coffee

Instant coffee has a reputation problem. Most instant coffee is made from low-quality commodity beans, spray-dried into a powder that produces a flat, bitter cup with no resemblance to real coffee. Ours is different. We start with specialty-grade Arabica beans, brew them into a concentrated coffee, and freeze-dry the result — a process that preserves the flavor compounds that spray-drying destroys. The result is instant coffee that actually tastes like coffee.

Roasted fresh in Temecula, California — in most cases the same day it ships.

Why Freeze-Dried?

Freeze-drying is the gold standard for instant coffee production. Unlike spray-drying — which uses high heat that destroys delicate flavor compounds — freeze-drying removes moisture at low temperatures, preserving the aromatic compounds that make coffee taste like coffee. The result is a cup that's smooth, rich, and clean — not the flat, bitter cup that instant coffee is known for.

The Format

Our Instant Coffee comes in a 30-serving resealable pouch — lightweight, portable, and designed for real life. The resealable closure locks in freshness between uses, so every cup tastes as good as the first. It dissolves instantly in hot water and works equally well iced.

Flavor Profile

Our Instant Coffee delivers:

  • Smooth and rich — genuinely pleasant, not flat or bitter
  • Clean finish — no harsh aftertaste, no artificial notes
  • Consistent cup — every serving tastes the same
  • Medium body — substantial enough to feel like real coffee

How to Brew Instant Coffee

Hot (Recommended) — Add one serving to 8oz of hot water (just off boil). Stir until dissolved. Adjust amount to taste.

Iced — Dissolve one serving in 2oz of hot water, then pour over ice and add cold water or milk to taste. The freeze-dried format dissolves cleanly even when diluted cold.

Travel — The resealable pouch fits in any bag, backpack, or carry-on. One serving per cup, no equipment needed.

Best For

  • Travel — the coffee that goes wherever you go
  • Busy professionals — a great cup in the time it takes to boil water
  • Camping and outdoors — no equipment, no mess, no compromise
  • Office desk drawer — always available when the office coffee isn't cutting it
  • Emergency backup — for when your grinder breaks or you run out of beans

Roast Level

Medium. Smooth, rich, and clean — the roast level that produces the most universally pleasant instant coffee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this real coffee?
Yes — it's made from specialty-grade Arabica beans, brewed and freeze-dried. It's real coffee in a convenient format, not a coffee-flavored powder.

How does it compare to brewed coffee?
Freeze-dried instant coffee is the closest thing to brewed coffee in an instant format. It won't replace a freshly brewed pour over, but it's dramatically better than standard instant coffee and genuinely satisfying for travel and convenience situations.

How many servings are in a pouch?
30 servings per resealable pouch.
