About this coffee

The Blonde is our lightest roast — a Sweet Blend that harmonizes Central American brightness with African depth, roasted to a blond profile that maximizes natural sweetness and minimizes bitterness. Roasted fresh in Temecula, California — in most cases the same day it ships. Built for espresso lovers who want a sugar-kissed, clean shot and pour over enthusiasts who want maximum brightness and clarity. Light, sweet, and alive in a way that darker roasts simply can't replicate.

Why We Made This

A blonde roast stops before or shortly after the first crack, preserving the origin character of the bean rather than replacing it with roast character. What you taste is the bean itself — the terroir, the varietal, the altitude — not the roasting process. Our Blonde combines Central American and African origins: the Central American component brings brightness and natural sweetness, the African component brings depth and complexity. Together they produce a cup that's balanced, sweet, and lively — more interesting than a single-origin light roast, more approachable than a complex African natural.

Flavor Profile

  • Bright, vibrant acidity — lively and energizing, the defining characteristic
  • Natural sweetness — the light roast preserves the bean's natural sugars
  • Clean, crisp character — no roast bitterness, just the pure character of the bean
  • Light body — crisp and clean with excellent clarity
  • Long, sweet finish — the natural sweetness lingers

Ingredients

Specialty-grade light roast Arabica coffee blend (Central American and African origins). Single-ingredient. No additives. Roasted to order.

Yield: ~17–24 cups per 12oz bag. Larger sizes scale proportionally.

How to Brew

Espresso (Recommended) — Built for blonde espresso. Fine grind, 1:2 ratio. Natural sweetness produces a sugar-kissed shot that's clean and bright. Works beautifully straight or as the base for lattes.

Pour Over — Highlights the brightness and clarity. 1:15 ratio, water at 200°F, medium-fine grind. Bloom 45 seconds. Total brew time 3–3.5 minutes. Drink it black.

Aeropress — Fast and clean. Brightness comes through clearly. 1:12 ratio, steep 2 minutes, press slowly.

Iced — Brightness and natural sweetness make it excellent iced. Flash-chill over ice for the best results.

Best For

  • Blonde espresso lovers who want a sweet, clean shot
  • Pour over enthusiasts who want maximum brightness and clarity
  • Light roast drinkers — bright, sweet, and alive
  • Iced coffee — brightness and sweetness are particularly refreshing cold

Frequently Asked Questions

Does blonde roast have more caffeine?
Slightly — the roasting process burns off a small amount of caffeine, so lighter roasts retain more per bean. The difference is small in practice, but the Blonde does have slightly more caffeine than our dark roasts.

Is it good for lattes?
Yes — the natural sweetness and brightness produce a clean, sweet latte that's lighter and more refreshing than a dark roast latte.

What's the difference between blonde and light roast?
They're the same thing — "blonde" is the term popularized by specialty coffee shops for a light roast profile. Bright, sweet, and low bitterness.
